Gazprom promises to ensure Russian gasification of 68.1% by 2018

GORKI, Moscow Region, Nov 7 (PRIME) -- Gas giant Gazprom plans to ensure 68.1% gasification of Russia by 2018 compared with 58.3% this year, CEO Alexei Miller said at a meeting with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Tuesday.

In 2017, the company will spend 29.5 billion rubles on the development of a gas supply system in 67 regions, Miller said, adding that financing will be increased in 2018.

“This will allow us to reach the average level of Russia’s gasification of 68.1% by January 1, 2018,” he said.

Gazprom guarantees reliable gas supplies to domestic and foreign consumers in the autumn-winter period, Miller also said.

“72.184 billion cubic meters of gas have been pumped into Russian underground storage facilities. At present, we can ensure a maximum possible daily takeoff of 805.3 million cubic meters of gas per day. This is a historic record,” he said.

Gazprom also has production capacities reserves of over 100 billion cubic meters in annual terms, he said.

“All this allows us to say with confidence that Gazprom will ensure reliable gas supplies to Russian consumers and consumers abroad in the upcoming autumn-winter period,” he said.

Miller said that consumption of Gazprom’s gas rose 6.7% on the year in January–October. He reiterated that Gazprom’s gas output increased 17.2% in the period.
